This is the last day of classes for seniors! Each year a member of the senior class is selected to receive the most prestigious award bestowed on a YHS Student. The entire faculty and student body are in attendance for this occasion.

Tuesday, June 1, 2011 (Rain Date)

This year the class outing will be a day trip to TBD. Students will meet at YHS in the morning and will then be transported to TBD. After a day of fun and sun (hopefully) they will return to YHS by mid-afternoon.

On October 17, 2007 the class of 2011 was eviscerated by Ms. Wooten in "Simon Says." Will there be a rematch on the Senior Picnic?


Thursday, June 2
7:30 p.m. Yarmouth Performing Arts Center, Yarmouth High School

Members of the family are invited to join the graduates in this august ceremony. The program includes a few speakers and one or two student performances. All members of the senior class are present in their caps and gowns. The program is usually about one-hour in length.

Senior Awards Ceremony

7:45 a.m. Yarmouth Performing Arts Center

During the program members of the Class of 2009 receive the awards and scholarships that they have earned. Family members are encouraged to attend this ceremony. Each recipient is asked to come forward and accept the scholarship from the representative of the sponsoring organization. The senior class sits on the stage for the entire ceremony. The program usually runs about two and one-half hours.

Lite refreshments are available prior to the ceremony in the cafeteria. Coffee, juice and “finger food” will be available.


Sunday, June 5
1:00 p.m. Yarmouth High School

The big day finally arrives. The program includes all of the traditional fare associated with this milestone occasion. The time of the ceremony is usually about two hours.
